What is SantaFeDonations.com™?

Santa Fe Donations™ is a service and a system purposely designed to help businesses give donations of GIFT CERTIFICATES and assist charitable organizations in gathering more donations. It also promotes giving in a way that nonprofit organizations benefit, businesses benefit, and the community wins.

Businesses choose WHO they give to in advance from a master list that is continuously updated, paying as little as $0.75 for gift certificates that includes custom design, printing, management, and integrated web support. Area nonproftits receive more donations when they are selected and also receive a poster to display each donated auction item. A letter accompanies each donation providing details of the gift and who they should send the charitable tax-deductible receipt and thank you to.

This is a new mindset that gives businesses more reasons to donate, as an inexpensive Turn on to new ideasmedia and marketing concept, and as a way to build loyal, local traffic to their store through corporate citizenship - it's that's easy. All artwork is designed by professional in-house designers. Santa Fe Donations™ is owned by Get Easy Advertising, an advertising agency in Santa Fe with over 20 years experience in branding and marketing. Bringing this valuable marketing expertise to small business donors, they can now get the graphics, printing, and promotional presence at events. Of course there's the good corporate citizenship always involved when you support your local charities, now an added web presence too.

New systems for advertising are being invented everyday. From taxi cabs to shopping carts - consider your presence now at gala events. You can order movies online and choose from a complete listing of movies - something unheard of just a few years ago - so why not do the same with gala events? Choose who you'll give to from a list of all events. Rather than meeting one-to-one with all 955 nonprofits in town, a business can now use this service, choose who they give to, and have the donations done in advance. If you're a small business that gets asked for donations consistently, wouldn't this save valuable time? You also won't ever have to say "no" to another charity, donation seekers are directed to this website to view donations or request one in the future.

For businesses, this is a charitable way to stretch your marketing dollars, advertise your strengths, and give prominence to your logo or brand. Nonprofits that are chosen are given custom-designed donations, ready for display.

  1. Businesses receive two tax write-offs, the inexpensive business expense of this gift certificate service at greatly reduced costs, as well as the donation value to the nonprofit - not to mention the "feel good factor" of supporting the community.
  2. The nonprofit receives more in donation value, as well they receive everything they need to advertise the donation - all ready to use
  3. the many who attend gala events will have a chance to get to know the business donor, bid on something useful, unique, and worthwhile.....
  4. the highest bidder inevitably gets a bargain, and likely becomes a loyal patron of the business donor.

"This service solves a huge problem for any “open door” business and that is, how to support numerous local charities in an economy that is fiscally challenging for local business-owners. No one wants to say “no”, but in the last few years the requests for donations have burgeoned in number. Santa Fe Donations represents an equitable, creative, win-win solution for both donor and recipient. Why only gift certificates?

There are many existing websites that facilitate personal monetary donations or donations of cars. There has never been a website to help small business professionally design, print, and distribute gift certificates without an advertising agency on gift certificate pictureretainer - until now. This service also showcases donations at events by providing the nonprofit organization with full color, printed posters for display at the auction.

What if a bidder cannot use all 12 monthly gift certificates?

Businesses often choose to make a donation as a bundle of 12 once-a-month gift certificates to stimulate return business, and most are transferrable. If the person who buys the gift certificates at a silent auction cannot make use of the gift certificate any given month, they can give it to a friend, relative, associate, teacher/tutor, or anyone - they are also given as thank you gifts at various times of the year.

Why are "Silent Auctions not so silent"?

Your donations are no longer silent - this is "giving out loud", a presence for your business and your generosity in the greater community. Now when you give a donation, you will also have your logo and address and phone number on everything, as well as on a poster describing the value of the donation and what it is. It is very visual, afterall, aren't all silent auctions with displays of artwork and jewelry visual? Now your gift certificates will have your offer, your colorful logo and presense well displayed. The basic way a silent auction is run does not change, there is a bid sheet for people to write their bids on, but now you can be assured of the proper representation of your logo and display with every donation.

Who is SantaFeDonations.com™?

This concept started in 2001.

It's challenging work to be a development director in a small saturated market like Santa Fe. Tracy Hogg, founder, moved to Santa Fe to take that challenge. Tracy has been very active in fundraising for several civic organizations, the past chair of the Santa Fe Youth Symphony, and helping to bring in $1.4 million for education. In a town of over 955 nonprofits with a population of 66,000, a unique approach is needed, and one that would also benefit the businesses with exposure and increased business. When Tracy started to talk to area businesses and proposed the idea, it was well received. The concept became SantaFeDonations.com and is steadily growing to serve the needs of the community and stimulate business, especially in times of recession when everyone needs help.

For 17 years Tracy was also the creative director of an international advertising agency and therefore knows the importance of branding. Businesses depend on creative marketing and brand awareness. Logos need to be presented PROPERLY. She soon recognized that Silent Auctions can be overwhelming events for staff administering them, and charitable organizations cannot spend the time to illustrate gift certificate donations to make them highly visible at events. Therefore, until now, it has been difficult for businesses offering gift certificate donations to really be seen at events among so many visual donations like jewelry and artwork. Now the nonprofit receiving a gift certificate donation will also receive a poster to showcase what people will be bidding on and the business donor's logo is clearly visible.

Tracy has also introduced this service to Albuquerque and is launching in Phoenix, Dallas, and North Carolina soon.

"I picked up the donations on Friday. They are fabulous! What a wonderful system you have established. From what I hear from donors, you are doing a superb job at connecting donors with charities! Thank you for your efforts. We are so grateful."
Christi Hield, Development Director, Fine Arts for Children & Teens (FACT), ph 505.992.2787, March 23, 2009

The goal was to reach 10,000, that's 10,000 gift certificates going to nonprofit organizations the first year (2008).It was easily surpassed in eight months and in just 5 months won a Business Excellence Award from the Chamber of Commece and City of Santa Fe.

Tracy Hogg also received a Woman in Technology Award on November 5, 2009 for this business.
